About Sarah Ruh
I’m a graphic designer and web developer with a background in fine arts and marketing communications.
Before starting my own business, I worked for a printing company, a chamber of commerce, a state tourism association, and a university. My responsibilities ranged from graphic design, writing/editing, web design, and project management to marketing, budgeting, communications, public relations, and event planning. I have, as they say, worn a lot of hats (sometimes all at once). Now, with over 15 years of experience, I’m able to serve as a “big picture” strategist, and I have the skills and knowledge to actually get things done.
Yep, I can do that.
When I got my first “real” job after college, I learned that the person I was replacing had left to start her own graphic design business. Even though I was excited about my new job, a little spark was ignited that day — I wondered, “could I do that, too, someday?”
Over the following years, I never quite let go of that idea. I researched, planned, dreamed, and did freelance work on the side. It took many years, but in May 2012, Sarah Ruh Design was born.
Where in the world am I?
I’m currently living and working in West Lafayette, Indiana. I work with clients all over the country, and I still have a particularly strong client base in the state of Texas, having lived in Austin for more than a decade.
I’m married to Brian Ruh, and we have two daughters, ages 7 and 11, and a cat named Luna. When I’m not working or hanging out with family, you’ll find me painting in my art studio.
Want to talk about a project?
If you happen to be local to me, I can meet with you in person if you prefer. Or, we can easily work together over email and phone, or video conferencing. Clear communication is my top priority, so whatever method helps you express your ideas best is A-OK by me.
